Vegan Saucepan Brownies

Who doesn’t love brownies?! Especially when they’re vegan and easy to make!

My grandma has the best recipe for saucepan brownies too! (TBH, I don’t think this was her recipe. She probably got it from somewhere else.) But to me, it’s her recipe. So without further ado, I present, easy delicious brownies! 🥳

Ingredients:

1/4 c ground flaxseeds

1/2 c warm water

2/3 c vegan butter

3/4 c coco powder

2 c granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 c flour

1/2 tsp salt

chocolate chips or walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees F

  2. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and set aside

  3. Whisk the ground flaxseeds with the water until there are no lumps, and set aside to let the mixture thicken

  4. In a medium saucepan, melt your vegan butter

  5. Once the butter is melted completely, take the sauce pan off the heat

  6. Mix the coco powder in with the melted butter

  7. Add in 2 cups of sugar and mix until completely combined

  8. Then add in the the flaxseed “eggs” and mix until fully incorporated

  9. Add in the vanilla and combine

  10. Add the flour and mix until full incorporated (this will take a little bit of elbow grease, just be patient with it)

  11. Add in the salt and the chocolate chips or nuts (if using) and mix until fully combined

  12. Pour the batter into your greased baking pan, and bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean

  13. Let it cool for 15 - 20 minutes and enjoy!
