I've grown up with this easy to make and definite crowd pleaser my entire life. I'm still trying to tweak the chocolate/ frosting part of it, but they're still drool worthy.🤤Whip these bad boys up for a party and watch the bars disappear before the night is old. (Is that a phrase? It is now. 🤷🏼♀️)
Recipe:
Bar/Base:
1/2 c granulated sugar
3/4 c peanut butter (creamy is best)
3/4 c white corn syrup
3 cups rice Krispy cereal
Frosting:
2 c chocolate (any kind works)
1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)
1 - 2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
Melt the sugar and corn syrup over medium low heat until it looks almost translucent (Don’t let it get to a boil)
Once it does, add in the peanut butter and the rice Krispy treats and stir until well combined (this step should be done fairly quickly so the syrup doesn’t burn)
Take it off the heat and pack it into the 9 x 13 inch greased pan
Melt the chocolate (preferably on a double burner to ensure the chocolate doesn’t burn)
Once melted, pour onto the rice Krispy base
Let it sit (you can put it in the fridge, but you don’t have to)
Once it’s set, cut the bars into whatever size you want, serve, and enjoy!
