Vegan Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

Did you know you can make your own sweetened condensed milk at home!? It's not even that hard! It just takes time. But it's so simple.






Recipe:


1 can (14 oz) Full Fat Coconut Milk

2/3 c Maple Syrup

1/4 c Cold Water

2 spoonfuls Corn Starch or Tapioca Starch


Put the corn starch or tapioca starch in the cold water and mix until there are no clumps

Pour the starch mixture and the milk in a saucepan

Heat the milk on medium high heat until it boils

Mix constantly so the milk doesn’t burn

Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium low and add the maple syrup. Make sure to mix it well

Let the mixture simmer for 30 - 45 minutes, or until the mixture is a Carmel color and a thick substance

Once it’s ready, take it off the stove, pour the ingredients into a jar, and let it cool in the fridge
